About EPDs

An EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) documents the environmental properties of a building material and is developed in accordance with recognized European and international standards.

There are many questions concerning what an EPD is, how it can be used/applied, how to read an EPD, and what it takes to develop an EPD for your product.

The example collection which was published spring of 2019 presents the good examples in a number of practical cases, where the actors of the industry across the value-chain give their input as to how and why they use EPDs.

Danish EPD's

EPD Denmark is the Danish EPD programme but we have many European colleagues. With many of them we collaborate through ECO Platform, which is why we have either agreements of mutual recognition with them, or through collaboration aim for all of us to follow the same requirements for verification, standardization, and content.

The EPDs in EPD Denmark’s database are therefore only the share of Danish products/manufacturers that have a market in Denmark or have chosen to place their EPD with us, but considering e.g. building certification an EPD will most often be accepted, as long as it is 3rd party verified and published trough an EPD programme.
